Anxiety, Stress and Adversity

Anxiety and stress are part of all of our lives. And a little of each is manageable and even necessary for all of us, including babies, to protect us and build resilience. Ongoing, toxic stress, however, is harmful for the developing brain. Parents and caregivers can learn ways to protect their children. Children who are protected from toxic stress and well-nurtured tend to grow to experience lifelong mental and physical wellness and become productive and empathetic citizens.
