Being Kind to Yourself is an Important Part of Being Present for Your Children

Stigma often surrounds unresolved trauma. Kindness, including self-kindness, is a gateway for healing and an essential element in supporting people who are working through crippling memories. Only then can they feel competent and present as parents.

Kindness is Honouring and Supporting Each Other’s Vulnerability

Awareness that a parent’s brain may be remembering trauma from their own childhood is a way to get past feelings of shame.
