Postpartum Depression is a Treatable Illness

The most important thing for women who feel there is something wrong is to seek help from experienced professionals who can help them understand where the feelings are coming from and provide assistance. Depression and anxiety during pregnancy or postpartum are highly treatable.

It is Critically Important to Seek Help

There is a wide range of treatment options and services that include individual, couple and group support. Some women prefer individual therapy while others find groups reduce their feelings of isolation. Women experiencing moderate to severe major depression benefit from medication and therapy. Sometimes a woman needs to change caregivers to find the caregiver who is right for her. Reaching out to trusted family and friends is important.
