Positive Touch in Many Forms

For babies, none of the senses is more important than touch. Healthy, loving touch is one of the most important factors for infants to grow and thrive. Massage and skin-to-skin contact benefit both infants and parents.

Part of KidCareCanada’s “Baby Massage Instructional Series” this introductory video focuses on the benefits of baby massage.

Foster Attachment, Bonding and Connection From Birth

Massage also includes eye to eye contact which releases oxytocin and increases bonding. Massage can be helpful in cases where postpartum depression is present. Massage can decrease stress hormones in both parents and infants. When parents are relaxed babies pick up on this and feel reassured, calm and relaxed – traits which help them develop into healthy, confident children and adults.

The qualified instructors in this video explain how you can set the stage for a calm, safe space for baby massage.

Our instructional videos are ideal for parents who have taken baby massage classes as a reminder of the techniques AND ideal for parents who are not able to participate in classes as the videos provide full instructions, We encourage you to learn from your health professional if the recommendations in the videos are right for your child.
